Interactive Sky Maps

A friend recently showed me a beautiful and easy to explore sky map. Just drag with your mouse to move around and use your mouse wheel to zoom in. This is the Photopic Sky Survey, made by Nick Risinger. I love to see what amateurs can do with some passion and commitment.

I found another good interactive sky map at wikisky.org. It isn’t quite as easy to use, but it has much more information and some gorgeous photos of specific objects.

Whenever I talk about the sky I have to mention the Astronomy Picture of the Day. Must…stop…clicking!
