Focus after the shot

A new company named Lytro is working on a camera that will let you manipulate focus after you take the shot. This is some seriously fun magic. At first I thought it was an April Fool’s joke or something like that, but it appears to be real technology. For now they only have working prototypes, but they seem to be making rapid progress. Play with some of the pictures on their web site to get a feel for how it will work.

There is some overlap with our Bokeh product, but these days Bokeh does much more than depth-of-field adjustments. I’m sure I’ll be using a Lytro camera and Bokeh in the future. You can never have too many photography toys. I mean tools!  ;-)
