In this update to Blow Up we focused on simplicity. Blow Up 3 simply enlarges clearer photos, does it faster, and has surprisingly few controls. I very recently purchased version 2 of blow up. Can I get a free update?

It depends on how recent your purchase has been. Our free upgrade window is 90 days from the release date. But we normally round the dates up to be fair.
If you purchased within a 90-day window, you most likely have been sent an upgrade license already. I suggest checking your spam/junk folder, the emails are occasionally caught in them. If you can’t find the email, open up a support ticket at http://support.alienskin.com/ and we will track down your missing license.

You just released Blow Up 3, is this a free update for Blow up 2, version: 2.1.1.1146 ? If so, please send me info on how to update. Thanks.

Blow Up 3 is a new version of the plug-in, so it is a new product. You would have to purchase an upgrade if you didn’t recently purchase Blow Up 2. If you purchased Blow Up 2 within the last 90-days you should have already received an upgrade license to the new version. If you haven’t please fill out a support ticket at support.alienskin.com and we will locate your missing codes.

bottom line, purchased blow up 2 about 4 months ago, will I see a big difference in quality of image, not just speed in blow up 3, is it worth the upgrade or just marginally different?
The latest version of Blow Up is faster than the previous versions. Blow Up 3 will also keep your photos crystal clear without any computer artifacts. I recommend downloading the software and giving it a try yourself. Here’s a link to the downloads page: http://www.alienskin.com/downloads
Just installed and works great in PS but can’t get the program to launch in Lightroom 3.5 64bit

Re-run the installer and look for Adobe Lightroom in the list of available host programs. If you see it, check only that box and install it again. If you do not see it, please open up a support ticket at support.alienskin.com and we will address your issue.

Tried installing unsuccessfully in Lightroom 3.5 many times by selecting Lightroom. Tried a custom install once, but Photoshop was the only selectable choice.

If you have tried installing Blow Up 3 into Lightroom 3.5 multiple times, then open Lightroom 3.5 and open your preferences. Mac = Lightroom > Preferences / PC = Edit > Preferences. Then click on the Presets tab and make sure there is NO check in “Store presets with catalog”. Once you have unchecked that option then click ok and restart Lightroom. You will find Blow Up 3 in your Photos > Edit In menu.
